The innovative and highly acclaimed guitarist and composer Mary Halvorson is making a rare appearance in the Carolinas with her new group, Canis Major, which includes Dave Adewumi (trumpet), Henry Fraser (bass), and Tomas Fujiwara (drums). Halvorson is described by the New York Times as "an unflinching original who has revealed new possibilities in the music" and by Pitchfork as someone who has "reimagined the rules and roles of jazz guitar."
