If New Orleans is the birthplace of jazz, then trumpeter Irvin Mayfield and the 18-piece New Orleans Jazz Orchestra are the proud standard bearers of that city’s indelible legacy. The Grammywinning Mayfield is a consummate entertainer, leading the big band through New Orleans classics and works by Basie and Ellington. All the while, he is living out the NOJO’s Vision of enhancing every day of life with jazz, one delightful performance at a time.
