The Afro-Peruvian Sextet was formed in January 2005 and returns to Rochester for their fourth Exodus To Jazz engagement. With an “upspiring” rhythmic and melodic signature, the Sextet has become a Rochester favorite, owing to their ability to create collective delight with their music. "We're definitely on a crusade to spread Afro-Peruvian jazz music to the world," AlegrĂa says. We say, “Join the crusade; get on board March 31st and don’t be surprised if you get off in Lima.”
