For more than 25 years, she has created original works blending progressive jazz with themes of hope and redemption, collaborating with artists including Terri Lyne Carrington and John Patitucci. An award-winning educator and scholar, Floyd also founded a university jazz studies program and continues her work in music, advocacy, and visual arts.
