Born in Remedios, Villa Clara, Diego began his musical journey at just nine years old, later studying at Cuba’s prestigious National School of Arts, where he developed a deep foundation in trumpet, composition, bebop, Cuban rumba, and Afro-Cuban jazz. His sound is rooted in the rich musical traditions of the Caribbean and Latin America while pushing forward into adventurous, boundary-expanding improvisation.
