Jazz Montana is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization aiming to educate and illuminate by offering an array of evocative programming and world class artists to the people of southwest Montana. Since 1992, Jazz Montana has brought many of the biggest names in jazz to the state for performances and educational programs. Over the years, jazz greats such as Dave Brubeck, Diana Krall, Ellis Marsalis, Bobby Hutcherson, Marcus Roberts and Ahmad Jamal, as well as the best Montana-based jazz musicians, have all appeared at the annual Jazz Montana Festival held in Bozeman. In addition, Jazz Montana has encouraged music education by awarding scholarships, sponsoring educational performances and clinics, and by including the area's most promising student musicians in the yearly festival events.
