MonoNeon was the last bassist hired by Prince. Here, they worked together for a brief but pivotal time before Prince’s death in 2016. Unlike most artists in Prince’s orbit, he allowed MonoNeon significant creative freedom. MonoNeon says he often encouraged him to "do whatever I wanted to do” musically.
MonoNeon has played the stages of Newport Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, Summer Camp, and Blue Note Jazz Festival. Also, Ground Up, New Orleans Jazz Festival, Life is Beautiful Festival, and more. Additionally, he has worked with Mavis Staples, George Clinton, Kat Williams, Nas, Ne Yo, and Mac Miller.
