The London-based quintet Cykada focuses on highly energetic, apocalyptic sounds that sometimes veer off into space rock. In their multi-faceted approach, the band’s musicians process Turkish and West African influences as well as flamenco. Wind instruments, electronics, and distorted guitar strings furiously deliver many surprises. In the process, a truly global sound emerges.
