Jerry Tolson Quintet at Wheeler Concert Hall

The Jerry Tolson Quintet from Louisville, Kentucky will present the opening concert in the Jazz Guest Artist Concert Series, co-sponsored by the University of Evansville and the Evansville Jazz Society. The concert will take place on Sunday, September 29 at 4:00 p.m. in the Wheeler Concert Hall rehearsal area.

The Jerry Tolson Quintet features jazz standards, contemporary originals, and Latin influenced selections. Tolson is a pianist, vocalist, saxophonist, composer and educator. He is known nationally as an expert clinician and has presented clinics and workshops around the United States, in Canada, and in Europe. He has been named to Who's Who Among America's Teachers and is an instructor at numerous summer jazz camps including the prestigious Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshops.

Playing piano in this ensemble, Tolson is joined by Tyrone Wheeler, bass; Ted Richardson, drums; Marlin MdcKay, trumpet; and David Clark, alto saxophone.
