Jordi Masalles And Tiempo Libre Celebrates Miles Davis 100 at Fiesta Sunset Jazz

This year we launched the new series "Jordi Masalles: Free Time & Friends," in which Masalles will each host a special guest. In January, it was the renowned musician Rafelito Mirabal, and in March, the excellent vibraphonist Claudia Reyes. Now, Fiesta Sunset Jazz presents a very special evening, joining the worldwide tributes to the centenary of the great Miles Davis with: Jordi Masalles, Free Time & Friends - Miles Davis's 100th Anniversary!

Miles Davis (1926–1991) was an iconic jazz trumpeter, bandleader, and composer who shaped the course of music for more than five decades. A pioneer of bebop, cool jazz, hard bop, modal jazz, and fusion (jazz-rock and jazz-funk), he recorded the best-selling jazz album of all time, Kind of Blue (1959). Known for his innovative and constantly evolving style and his "Prince of Darkness" image, he revolutionized jazz from the 1940s to the 1990s. Thanks to his musical innovations, profound influence, sustained leadership, and creativity, Davis occupies a position in jazz similar to that of Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and Charlie Parker.
