Live, the five show that they are all wide awake—listening closely, perceiving, communicating with each other. “The moment you make music, everything makes sense, there are no questions – those only exist before and after.” Lukas DeRungs acts as bandleader here, with a keen sense for dramatic tension, dynamics, and the interpersonal connections needed for a band to harmonize and turn a concert into a special evening. His piano playing forms the framework for a soundscape in which each band member improvises. His compositions reflect influences from classical choral music, groove music, and contemporary jazz from Europe, the US, and the Middle East.
