Daniel García – The Heir of Salamanca

From the very first bars, images appear in the mind’s eye: of tall baroque buildings lying in the shade, of priestly students strolling along the Calle Compafiia in Salamanca in their flowing robes. Daniel García’s native city was once considered one of the most important stops on the Via de la Plata, the Silver Road, a Roman route from the north to the south of the Iberian Peninsula. A main artery that brought together people and cultures, where Celtic and Nordic influences, the Eastern Mediterranean, Africa, but also America flowed into each other. Therefore, after his remarkable debut „Travesuras“ from 2019, the 37-year-old publishes „Via de la Plata“ (ACT/edel), a kind of sequel novel that reflects the multicultural exceptionalism of his home country in ten colorful titles.
