Mentored by blues legend Sonny Rhodes, he learned guitar, lap steel, band leadership, and heart-first playing—all while earning an MBA from the University of Tampa.He formed The Selwyn Birchwood Band in 2010, won the 2013 International Blues Challenge, and exploded onto the scene with Don’t Call No Ambulance, followed by fan-favorites Pick Your Poison and Living in a Burning House, earning Blues Music and Living Blues awards. His music has landed on major blues charts, SiriusXM’s Bluesville, AAA radio, and NPR stations.Touring nonstop, Birchwood’s band has lit up festivals across North America and Europe.
